Ring o Rosies
Origin - a common theory is that this nursery rhyme relates to symptoms of the plague, specifically the bubonic plague that spread through Europe in the1340's. However some disagree with this theory due to the time the rhyme was released and the fact that the symptoms are not in fact that of the plague. An alternative and more probable explanation, and one which is almost always the case in nursery rhymes, is that the words are playful nonsense.
